It's an odd tradition, but there really is no wake like an Irish wake.

This video, captured by Tim Clifford, was taken in Falvey's in Kilorglin, Co. Kerry at the wake of Ger Foley, a well-known figure in Kilorglin who was more commonly known as Farmer.

The local hero, who supposedly had a wealth of music knowledge and loved it all from traditional to contemporary music, was celebrated in roaring fashion in his local by those who knew him best. The video shows the publican launching himself onto the bar and leading the crowd in a rousing rendition of The Killers' Mr. Brightside.

Take a look.

In the space of a single day, the video has amassed 93,000 views on Vimeo and was selected as a Staff Pick by the site. Pretty impressive and what a way to celebrate someone's life.

We should all be that lucky.
