As we settle in for the Ireland v France game today, a few fans made their way to Lyon earlier this morning aboard a Ryanair flight captained by one Greg Browne.

Captain Browne, who's an ardent Irish supporter, broke with tradition somewhat and made his pre-flight announcement outside of the cockpit and addressed the legion of Irish fans on his flight.

The video, captured by 2FM's Declan Pierce, shows Browne producing an Irish jersey and promising to wear it whilst flying and demanding that his passengers sing as loudly as possible during the flight.

Take a look.

Madness altogether. We also liked that touch about the co-pilot and stewardess being called Gary Breen. It really is like Italia '90 at times.

Kick-off for today's match is at 2PM and RTE 2's coverage begins at 1PM.
