At The Races presenter Hayley Moore shocked everyone earlier in the week when she managed to catch a loose horse at the Chepstow racecourse in Wales.

Moore used to be an amateur rider herself before going into broadcasting. Horse riding runs in the family with her father being a trainer and her brother, Ryan Moore, regarded as the best jockey in the world by many.

During a race, the horse Give Em A Clump stumbled and unseated his rider Fran Berry. When the race finished, the horse continued racing down the track with several people diving out of its way. However, Moore firmly stood her ground and though she was knocked over, she managed to hang onto the reins and bring the horse to a halt.

She went on to unsaddle the gelding before returning back on the air later.

It’s quite extraordinary to watch:

Moore told the BBC: "It had already done a couple of laps of the racecourse, which is quite a long way at Chepstow. Horses will get eventually exhausted. He was just running on his adrenaline and already had done a lot of exercise and it was very warm day - so I just thought I'd go for it."

She added: "It was the quickest moving horse that I've tried to catch, hence me falling over when I did it. I'm pretty strong, pretty sturdy..... but it was probably a bit stupid to be honest with you."

So there you have it kids – don’t try this at home.
