It is, and will always remain, his most famous role ever - but Macaulay Culkin says that he can't bear to watch the 'Home Alone' films anymore.

The child star, now 37, made an appearance on The Ellen Show - the full episode of which is due to air today - but a teaser clip has been revealed which sees him discuss the 1990 film and its 1992 sequel.

"It’s background radiation at Christmas time," he said. "I’ve had people who want to watch it with me, which is both flattering and creepy.

"When I’m watching it I’m remembering that day on the set, like how I was hiding my Pepsi behind the couch. I can’t watch it the same way other people do."

He added that the popularity of 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York' means that he tries to limit his time in public around Christmas. "It’s my season. It’s Macaulay season," he said. "I try to go out less and less around that time of year."
