Lisa Kudrow may forever be famous for playing Phoebe Buffay in the now iconic sitcom Friends but for a number of years, she went through tough times, just like we all do.

A 2010 graduation speech from the actress is currently trending as it talks about life disappointments followed by success for one’s hard work.

In the speech, she explains that she was devastated after being fired from TV show Frasier following the pilot. She states: “When one door closes, another door always opens. It really does. That's what I would tell myself to keep those moments of doubt only moments.

“It worked. I kept going. After many auditions, I was the second person cast in the pilot called 'Friends Like Us', which would be later changed to 'Friends'.” She concludes the speech saying: “So, thank God I got fired. There is a reason for everything.”
