When we think of reasons as to why we might jump over the fence of the tiger enclosure at the Zoo, retrieving the hat we dropped in there is very low down on the list.
It must have been number one on this woman's list when she visited the Toronto Zoo. Having dropped her hat into the outer perimeter of the tiger enclosure, the woman decided to jump in and retrieve it. Getting both the tiger in the enclosure and passers by all riled up.
We'd like to think there were extenuating circumstances here (perhaps the hat held a lot of sentimental for the woman) but even still, we're inclined to go along with one passerby's assessment. What a 'moron'.
Toronto Zoo are investigating the incident with one spokesperson commenting that: "It was very irresponsible of this individual to jump over the boardwalk and she could have easily injured herself by exciting the animal in this way."
“The situation could have been much worse.”
