JK Rowling has developed a positive rep for her charitable deeds, and this one really is among the most touching.

Seven year old Bana Alabed has been taking the internet by storm by live-tweeting her life from a war zone in Aleppo. Her posts are often fearful, sometimes tragic, but there are also moments of hope. She now has over 98,000 followers.

Bana's account is controlled by her mother, Fatemah, and earlier this week the family watched Harry Potter together. Fatemah then tweeted JK Rowling inquiring about the book.

Now JK has sent the family Ebook versions of the series (she couldn't send a package into the war zone).

Yesterday, Bana's account shared a video of her thanking the author. ‘My friend, Joanne, how are you? I started reading the books. Thank you very much. I love you,’ Alabed says in the video, showing the cover of the Philosopher's Stone on a phone.

She also shared pictures of her reading the books with her brothers:
