If you ever watched Transformers, Voltron, Gobots or any cartoon with giant robots beating the crap out of each other and wondered what it might look like in real life, we've got bad news for you.

As it turns out, the whole thing is pretty anticlimactic and - going by this particular incident - ends with one single punch and the operator inside slightly pumping his head. The long-awaited battle between America's MegaBots Inc. and Japan's Suidobiashi Heavy Industry took place two days ago and saw the creations of both companies face off in single combat.

The lead-up to the event was heavily publicised, and the work behind creating two giant robots involved over two years of work and thousands of man-hours in design and manufacturing - but it all ended with a solitary punch.

The full 26 minute details the construction behind Karatas - that's the Japanese one - and Iron Glory - that's the American one - but if you want to see the fight itself, just skip to eight minutes in.

Take a look,
