Stop laughing.

Uranus, the butt of many jokes, will be visible with the naked eye tonight - provided the storm clouds part and you have an uninterrupted view of the night sky. The planet will be visible for the first time in almost fifty years as the rotation of the Earth and the sun is in a perfect line to Uranus.

According to Jane Houston Jones of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the planet will be "visible all night long and its blue-green color is unmistakable. It may be bright enough to see with your naked eye - and for sure in binoculars." Just think about that for a moment, folks. It'll be the first time in almost fifty years that someone's seen Uranus.

Incredible. Stop laughing.
