UFC Dublin sold out in record time, with between 8,000 and 9,000 tickets sold in around 3 minutes - not including those that went on presale yesterday.

Hometown hero Conor McGregor takes on Brazilian fighter Diego Brandao headlining the event, with the always exciting Dubliner Neil Seery too on the main card. More Irish fighters are thought to be under consideration for the 'Undercard.'

The UFC last rolled into Dublin soon after the launch of the new Point, The 02, selling out UFC 93, nearly 10,000 seats, in under an hour and becoming the biggest in-door sporting event to ever take place in Ireland.

Dana White promised they'd be back, and back they are.

As expected the touts were on it fairly quickly, with inordinate prices being mentioned on Twitter, while StubHub has seats in the nose bleed section of the 02 for £214 - that's STERLING.

There are also VIP packages, the cheapest of which start at €595 per ticket.

If you managed to get tickets, you are the envy of a lot of folks right now. On the plus side, the demand is now firmly there; we'd expect another Irish card within the year.
