Is nothing sacred anymore?
Poor Elf on the Shelf. As if this time of year wasn’t busy and stressful enough for him, his image has now been used in a series of bizarre Christmas themed tweets by discount store Poundland.
One image, which has since been deleted, is of the Elf dangling a tea bag over a doll’s face, beside a box of Twinings tea with the caption: ‘How do you take your tea? One lump or two?’

Twinings were not best pleased and sent out a tweet of their own. ‘We are aware of an image that is circulating that misuses our product,’ they said. ‘This is to confirm that we had no involvement in this and that is obviously not reflective of our brand values.’
