According to reports, snow, frost, ice and flooding are all on the way to batter the sh*t out of Ireland.

As most of you know, spring just isn’t a thing here – there's just rain and cold.

According to the latest weather report, this is certainly set to be the case this weekend as experts predict that gale force winds and ice could develop from tonight.

Met Eireann reports that temperatures are set to drop this evening.

According to the forecaster: “Cold and blustery this morning with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers.

“The winds will continue to ease during the morning and many areas will be dry with sunny spells.

“Heavy downpours will develop through the day with some falls of hail, sleet and snow occurring also.

“A cold day with frost in places at first and temperatures at best 6 to 9 degrees dropping sharply this afternoon.

“Fresh to strong westerly winds will drop light to moderate and gradually back southerly.

“Further heavy falls tonight of rain, sleet and snow.

“Lowest temperatures zero to 3 degrees with frost and icy patches developing locally but not widespread.”

Friday is predicted to be cold and cloudy, with heavy downpours and even some flooding. Snow is expected on higher ground by night time and temperatures will drop as low as 2C. There could be frost and icy stretches in parts of the country but this is not set to be widespread.

Heavy showers and snow are likely on Saturday and Sunday, particularly on higher ground, with daytime temperatures ranging between 4 to 9C. There could be strong to gale force winds on Sunday.

We think you’re getting the idea – wrap up for cold, wet weather.
