We've heard of people getting attention because of their similarities to celebrities before but this is arguably the first time that it's been entirely negative.

Mario Licato, an art director from Brooklyn, New York had been told many times by friends that he resembles Transformers star Shia LaBeouf. He always took it as a good thing. That is until a random guy punched him the face because of it.

According to Licato, the assailant set upon him purely for looking like LaBeouf. He said that he fell down four steps and was briefly knocked out after the incident.

Apparently, Shia heard about the misfortune that fell upon his doppelganger and left him a heartfelt voice message.

"I'm so sorry. But I get it. It's happened to me before," LaBeouf told Licato before leaving his number, offering support. "I wish I was in New York. I'd come bring you soup […]. We could chat. Let's giggle over this. Maybe there's a silver lining in all this."

The question now is what did Shia do to make a guy so mad that he would punch one of his lookalikes? Transformers 2 wasn't that bad was it?
