To state the glaringly obvious, 2016 has not been a good year in terms of celebrity deaths.

We've lost some of our biggest and most significant cultural idols over the last twelve months, from George Michael to Muhammad Ali to Prince to Alan Rickman to Carrie Fisher and beyond. And it all started last January, when David Bowie left this mortal coil.
