As we reported at the end of last year, an translation agency in London was seeking applicants for the world's first emoji translator.

You might think that's a bulls**t job and nobody would apply for it, but as it turns out, the job received over 500 entries and has now been filled. According to Today Translations, the role has been filled by Keith Broni, an Irishman with an MSc in Business Psychology at University College London.

According to a statement from Today Translations, Broni's dissertation was "on how brands use emojis to encourage an emotional response," so he was obviously a natural fit for the job.

An emoji translator, folks. This world is so f*cked.
