Scientists at the Royal Ontario Museum have recently unearthed a new dinosaur species that bears a very striking resemblance to Zuul, the demonic creature that Sigourney Weaver morphed into in 1984's Ghostbusters.

Yes, really.

The creature was unearthed in Montana, where some of the first dinosaurs ever discovered in North America were collected, and has been rigorously studied by paleontologists. According to their research, the dinosaur had a short, rounded snout, armoured face and prominent horns behind the eyes, with a three-metre tail that featured spikes on it that the creature used for swiping at the legs of larger dinosaurs and creatures.

In fact, the dinosaur has been designed Zuul crurivastator, which translates as 'Zuul, destroyer of shins' and is definitely not a joke.

Dr. David Evans, Curator in Vertebrate Palaeontology at the Royal Ontario Museum, said that "the preservation of the fossil is truly remarkable. Not only is the skeleton almost completely intact, but large parts of the bony armour in the skin are still in its natural position."

Here's a look at the dinosaur's head, for good measure.
