It looks like Ronda Rousey fans are going to have to wait until 2017 for her to make her UFC comeback after Dana White confirmed that she won't be fighting at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, New York.

Rousey had originally been penciled in for a return at UFC 200 in July but those plans were quashed after she picked up a knee injury.

It then looked like the former Women's Bantamweight Champion was set to return for the first MMA event in New York for nearly twenty years. Rousey herself said that she felt she'd earned the right after spending years campaigning for the sport's legalisation in New York.

However with the event less than three months away, Dana White has confirmed that: “She’s definitely not fighting in New York.”

There is still the UFC 206 and UFC 207 events in December but it's likely that if New York is no longer on the card, she will be in no rush to make her return before 2017.
