Rare ear condition leaves woman permanently hearing 'How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?'
A woman in the UK has been left permanently hearing the tune to the 1950s hit 'How Much Is That Doggie in the Window' for the past three years. The rare form of tinnitus means that the tune plays in her head on an endless loop, twenty-four hours a day.
Speaking of the affliction, Susan Root - the person affected by the illness - said: "It's like having a radio that you just can't turn off. I began hearing tunes in my ears three years ago and it just has not stopped since."
In fact, sometimes the music in her head is so loud the she claims she can't hear her husband talk. So that's her excuse, eh?
Root has sought extensive treatment for the issue, including hearing aids and meditative CDs, but none have helped. "I've come to accept that I'm probably going to be stuck with this hellish condition for the rest of my life."
What would be the worst song to have stuck in your head constantly? Our money is on Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up'. It would be as if fate was rickrolling you twenty-four hours a day.
