As you may have already heard, Michael Bond - the author / creator of Paddington Bear - passed away yesterday at the age of 91.

Paddington Bear has been a part of childhood memories since the first novel was published in 1958 right up to Bond's latest novel, Paddington's Finest Hour. In fact, a bronze statue was erected to honour Bond's creation in Paddington Station and has now become a focal point for mourners.

This picture, taken by Louis Barfe, shows fans of Paddington leaving jars of marmalade at the Paddington Bear statue, as well as flowers and letters of condolences.

Shut up, we're not crying, you're crying.
