A lot of us are heading back to our office desks right now, but at least stories like these can perk us up and give us a laugh to help get through the week.
Moreover, there’s a valuable lesson to be had here as we come into the new year – don’t leave wireless networks or devices unsecured.
Everyman hero Blake Messick noticed last weekend that his neighbour had just gotten an unsecured wireless printer, presumably as a Christmas present. His response was to have the printer send his neighbour a wee message:
my neighbor just got an unsecured wireless printer, so I sent this to him pic.twitter.com/UxVdyLJTYv

Blake’s adventure continued later that day:
@blakemessick update: my neighbor has thrown out the printer pic.twitter.com/OPoAFuJjZ5
— blake messick (@blakemessick) December 31, 2016
And the story ended with a rather brilliant finale:
@blakemessick And that's the story of how I got a free printer pic.twitter.com/DOJlS7jf39

The tweets have been shared tens of thousands of times, and the Twitter reactions to the story have also been brilliant:

@blakemessick the next step is to return it to his doorstep with a paper in the tray reading, "that wasn't very nice, Tom"

.@blakemessick funny and geeky and awesome and all that, but do give it back. Tell neighbour you exorcised it for them..?

@blakemessick the correct reaction from your neighbor should've been: pic.twitter.com/UwIcxl3CyK

@blakemessick We could use people like you on our team !

Heck even if it is a hoax, it makes for some a class story.
