As we reported earlier this week, NASA is currently seeking a Planetary Protection Officer.

While the role might sound incredibly cool (and it is, if you're into microbial contamination), the title of the job had some people thinking it involved becoming a superhero and flying around the planet with a group of other Planetary Protection Officers.

One boy however, named Jack Davis, decided he was the right person for the job. Why? Because he also happens to be a Guardian of the Galaxy. Jack's letter to NASA described his many talents - including his sister telling him he's an alien, watching every space and alien movie there is, and being able to think like an alien - reached Dr. James L. Green of NASA's Planetary Sciences Division, who was good enough to reply.

Dr. Green's letter thanked Jack for the interest, and told him to study hard in school so that he could join NASA when he was older than 9 years.

Here's the letter in full.
