Remember how we all laughed and guffawed at the idea of Donald Trump, that fake tan-wearing gameshow host with the hair, becoming US President?

Good times, you guys. Good times. Of course, we're now basically on a countdown to nuclear apocalypse so this may all be moot, but the 2020 Presidential Election is already beginning to take shape. Barring him being impeached, Trump will most likely stand as a candidate for the Republican Party, whilst the Democrat nomination has a number of options, including 'Diamond' Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Cory Booker being tipped as potential candidates.

One name, however, that's been gathering traction as this early stage is - stop laughing - Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Yes, really. In fact, The People's Champ has even acknowledged said traction. When questioned on the topic by Comicbook.com, Johnson said that it "would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen."

While his fans are certainly behind him for the run, a political pundit has stepped forward and backed The Rock for the White House - Michael Moore. In an interview with Variety, the Bowling For Columbine director made his thoughts on the People's Champ's potential presidency clear.

"Run the Rock! Run the Rock. Who do you want for the commander in chief? I want the f*cking Rock! It would scare anybody that would hurt us. Think about how safe we would be if the Rock was president. Not Vin Diesel! The Rock. Or Liam Neeson, but Liam Neeson can’t run because our Constitution says you have to be born here. So who’s the American Liam Neeson that we could run? Because nobody would f*ck with him."

Although The Rock is a registered Republican, he has been known to hew more towards the progressive (read: not actually batshit insane) side of the party. Could we see The Rock throwing the People's Elbow on Trump in 2020?

Considering that fat f*ck is now the leader of the free world, anything's possible.
