They do say that if you can't laugh at your own misfortune...

Earlier this week, comedian Michael McIntyre was the victim of theft in London while collecting his young sons from school, when two men on a moped smashed the window of his car and demanded he hand over his £15,000 Rolex watch at knifepoint.

Now, footage of the incident - which was caught on camera by a bystander - has emerged, and reports from the first of McIntyre's gigs at Dublin's 3Arena last night suggest that he even got a few jokes out of it.

He reportedly told the audience: "It’s great to be here, in fact I’m moving here. F*** London", before adding "It hasn’t been a great week. But I’m ok, we’re ok."

He continued: "They say time is the healer. I have lost my watch, how is time going to heal? I have no idea what time it is."
