It's quite clear that this US Presidential Election isn't going to be anywhere near normal, but each day brings new weirdness to the table that's impossible to ignore.

Case in point being the Muscles From Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and his hot take on the US Presidential Election / insane rantings about the Illuminati. Speaking on a political debate show on French television, the star of Street Fighter, Bloodsport and that episode of Friends with Outbreak 2 had a few thoughts about Donald Trump's baffling support by sections of the American populace.

"Well, they (Donald Trump and Ted Cruz aren't going to win. You still have the Rockefellers... people like... the Rothschilds... those big families that dominate continents. No, it’s not even France, we’re talking continents. These are families that rise in 1827, a family with five sons that expands. It’s above everything we’re talking about tonight."

For those that may not be familiar with either of those surnames, the Rockefellers and Rothschilds are commonly believed by actual nutjobs conspiracy theorists to be heavily associated with the Illuminati / New World Order / lizards-that-look-like-people. Van Damme went over and even took a swipe at "globalism", which is probably why he has a career in the first place.

"So you have lobbyists, people that are candidates to the elections, and then you have people like Donald Trump, who has what? Ten billion euros? He might have more but that’s what he declares, in legal documents in any case. If I myself have goods and worked all my life for my family, for my friends, for my country where I pay my taxes..What he wants first, in my opinion, is to protect his interests. Whereas someone who works for free is someone dangerous. It’s true we have problems with globalism because of the globalists...To get out of globalism is to leave the world alone. It’s a different philosophy."

For his part, Trump is actually a fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme has been on the record as saying that 1987's Bloodsport is one of favourite films of all time. No, really. In a 1997 interview with New Yorker Magazine, Trump proudly called Bloodsport "an incredible, fantastic movie."

Has he not seen Street Fighter? Or Double Team with Dennis Rodman? That's WAY better.
