If you can stand to hear Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe just one more time this year, this nerdy hack is a good way to do it. Programmer Ryan Challinor created this nifty sound controlling programme for 'Music Hack Day MIT 2012', where artists and computer geniuses come together to discover "the future of music". Basically it's a massive geek-in in the home of geekdom. Anyway, what Challinor did was, in layman's terms, stick a GPS watch, heart monitor and webcam together, and used his computer prowess to make music respond to his heartbeat. He's a lot better at explaining the mechanics of it. It's pretty cool.
