Although the last HMV stores closed up in Ireland in 2016, the online portal of the famous music and entertainment chain - HMV.ie - remained open.
Well, according to the website, that's now gone too. If you go to HMV.ie, you'll find yourself greeted with a gif from The Sound Of Music and the following message - "After years of operating in Ireland, we have made the difficult decision to shut down the hmv.ie website."
However, the messages goes on to say that any and all orders placed through the website before its closure will be fulfilled - so no worries there.
HMV was purchased back in 2013 by Hilco Capital Ireland, with stores in iconic locations like Henry St., Grafton St. and Galway, but soon closed after just three years, with the apparent focus shifting to its online portal, HMV.ie - which has now been closed as well.
