Rosette Laursen was working as an assistant to agent Michael Einfeld when he accidentally hit ‘send-all’ on two emails meant for male colleagues.

Laursen had requested an unpaid day off to take part in ‘A Day Without A Woman’, a demonstration designed to highlight the contribution that women make to the workplace and to raise awareness around issues like sexual harassment and pay inequality.

Instead she got the following two emails:

Einfeld apologised in a text and a co-worker encouraged Laursen to briefly return to work. She ultimately decided to pursue legal action and shared the posts on her Facebook page when Einfeld refused to engage with her lawyers.

Michael Einfeld has since issued an apology:

“Let me say without reservation – I am sorry. I used language that was tasteless, humorless and completely inexcusable. I believe deeply in workplace diversity regardless of race, gender, creed or sexual orientation, and I am mortified that the things I have said have worked against my commitment to inclusion,” he said.

Too little too late, Michael.
