It's something that's UFC fans have been speculating for months but it now seems like we might have a more clear time frame as to when we can expect Ronda Rousey to make her return to the UFC.
Ever since her shocking defeat at the hands of Holly Holm, it seemed like Dana White was hellbent on fixing the Holm v Rousey rematch for UFC 200 in July. It seemed unlikely what with Rousey's increasingly busy film schedule and now White himself has all but confirmed that he doesn't expect Rousey to return until November.
In an interview with BigBoyTV, White said that Holm will defend her title at UFC 196 in March and the winner of that fight will face Rousey in November.
“So, Holly Holm will fight Miesha Tate March 5 on the co-main event of Conor McGregor vs. [Rafael] dos Anjos. We haven’t even announced the rest of the card! Wait til you hear the rest! It’s gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be a sick card. So, the winner of that fight will fight Ronda … probably in November.”
Hmmm....'probably in November'. While it's not exactly an official date we guess White doesn't want to commit to anything he can't guarantee for now. If it does take long, then Rosuey will have gone a year without competing. Will she be a little bit rusty?
“She’s very intense. She’s a badass, man. She’ll be back.” he added.
Although we're looking forward to Rousey's return, we're slightly skeptical that she'll even make it back by then. The number of movie projects she's committed to seems to increase every day. She's shooting the Roadhouse remake this year and there's also the My Fight, Your Fight adaptation still to come too. She's got a lot on her plate and she'll want to make sure to give herself a sufficient amount of time to prepare to take on Holm again considering how disastrous her defeat was last time out.
