He's the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be - and, thankfully, he's on the mend.

Bret Hart announced a couple of weeks ago that he was suffering from prostate cancer and was due to enter surgery to operate. Well, at last, there's some good news for a change.

Posting an update on his Instagram page, Hart announced that the surgery was a success and that he's on the road to recovery. "Surgery’s over and on the long road to recovery. I want to thank Dr. Hyndman and the nursing staff at Rocky View Hospital for an outstanding job. I also want to thank my family, friends, and fans for all your love and support. Things are looking up and I should be home in the next couple of days. In the words of Vince McMahon: “It’s onwards and upwards."

As you may know, the Hart family haven't exactly had the best luck down through the years. Hart's brother, Owen, died during a live pay-per-view event in 1999 whilst Hart's brother-in-law, 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith, passed away in 2002 from a heart attack attributed to his many years of drug and steroid abuse.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Hitman.
