Falling ill at work is a nightmare scenario for most people but even more so when you work on live radio.

BBC Weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker was delivering the early morning weather report on Radio 4 the other week when a bout of sickness hit him. He tried his best to brave it before having to run off the air mid report and have a colleague take over.

You can listen to the full broadcast below:

Listeners were initially confused as to what had happened with one Twitter user enquiring why Schafernaker was crying during a live broadcast.

The weatherman later took to Facebook to clarify what had happened to him and apologise to listeners for any distress.

What exactly brought on the bout of sickness hasn't been confirmed but many cynics have claimed a BBC Christmas Party was being held the night before the 5.20am broadcast and that Schafernaker was probably feeling the ill effects from that.

We've all been there.
