Unless you were living under a rock yesterday, you'll be aware that Dublin won the All Ireland yesterday, their second in 3 years. It's tough, but I'll put aside my culchie bias to wish the boys in blue a hearty congratulations, they were the best team on the day.

Much as the capital city capturing Sam for another year is headline news, perhaps the biggest news story after the match was Mayo's failure to win the biggest game of them all, yet again. They have now lost 7 finals in the last twenty-four years including 4 out of the last 10. Jesus, that's rough.

Perhaps understanding the Westerners plight, Dublin corner back Jonny Cooper was quick to console Mayo keeper Robbie Hennelly after the final whistle, in a photo that was wildly shared on social media yesterday.

It's getting into the realm of the ridiculous now for Mayo and even the most hardened Dub supporters would have to feel a great deal of sympathy for Mayo and their legion of fans.

I'm sure they all went and had a cracking night in Coppers regardless, but still, those Mayo lads will surely be waking up this morning wondering 'what if'….AGAIN.
