And she deserves every penny.

You may remember a shocking video of American nurse, Alex Wubbels, being arrested at work as she tried to prevent a police officer from drawing blood from an unconscious patient at Salt Lake City’s University Hospital nearly two months ago.

Here’s a reminder of the incident-

Ms Wubbels was following hospital policy and rightly refused Detective Jeff Wayne permission to take the sample as he didn’t have a warrant or consent. He violently handcuffed Ms Wubbels, who protested repeatedly, and has since been fired but is appealing.

She has now agreed a pay-out with Salt Lake City’s local government and University Hospital of $500,000 and has vowed to donate some of her settlement to a nurses union and to help other victims trying to get similar body-camera footage.

"We all deserve to know the truth, and the truth comes when you see the actual raw footage, and that's what happened in my case. No matter how truthful I was in telling my story, it was nothing compared to what people saw and the visceral reaction people experienced when watching the footage of the experience I went through," she said.

Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown has since apologised and said he was "deeply troubled" by Detective Payne's conduct.
