Food, glorious food. If there is one thing we love here in entertainment.ie it’s our food. And with the help of Discover Ireland we have the list of some the top food festivals to check out over the coming months.

Connemara Mussel Festival
2nd-4th May

Now in its 9th year the Connemara Mussel Festival celebrates local food, culture and heritage. This festival is a premier food event for Connemara with people coming from near and far. So why not pop down and sample some of the local produce and see the beautiful views of the Connemara landscape. And partake in some music and dancing.

Gourmet Greystones
4th May

The Gourmet Greystones festival honours all the restaurants, cafes and gourmet food outlets in the award winning coastal town of Greystones, Co Wicklow. Give your palate a truly enjoyable education by experiencing the best of Irish and international food in the local restaurants and cafes of Greystones. Also Includes a Wicklow Food Market, cooking demonstrations from some of Ireland's best chefs, wine, beer and cocktails tasting, artisan workshops, entertainment, young Masterchef competition, national curry championship and plenty more to keep you occupied.

Burren Slow Food Festival
23rd-25th
 May

This three day festival highlights the best of food culture on county Clare. All local high quality produce from local growers, producers and traders will be available giving you the chance to sample the true taste of Clare in the lovely surroundings of the Burren.

Taste of Dublin
12th-15th June

The Taste of Dublin is back in the beautiful surroundings of the Iveagh Garden. One of the nicest green areas in the city, soak up the laid back atmosphere between the 12-15th June. A great festival for four days of summer eating, drinking and entertainment, where 20 of the city's latest, greatest and hottest restaurants will be dishing up their finest in an unbeatable alfresco gourmet feast, while 100 producers provide a bounty of the best food and beverages.

Dunmore East Festival
27th-29th June

For a weekend full of fun, great food, live entertainment and a large market held in the harbour then head to Dunmore in Waterford. Dunmore East has lots to offer and this festival showcases that by highlighting its many attractions. Enjoy foraging walks, learn more about the local fishing industry with workshops on the harbour, watch the air corps and RNLI demonstrate some of their breath-taking skills both in the air and in the sea, watch some of the local chefs cook some of their signature dishes, get some gardening tips with a local garden club, visit the spectacular farmers market in the harbour, take in some of the live music playing in each venue over three nights or enter into the sandcastle competition.

Feile an Phrata
27th-29th June

A festival all for our humble potato. To honour the potato and celebrate its vital place in our lives head to the West of Kerry for the Feile an Phrata. There is plenty of fun to be had at this festival including the Spud Off Mor, where a champion potato grower from across the Dingle Peninsula is chosen.

A Taste of Donegal
22nd-24th August

A Taste of Donegal brings together top restaurants, hotels and food, drink and lifestyle product providers in a beautiful tented village on the pier. With the backdrop of the Bluestack Mountains and Donegal Bay, this is the perfect venue in which exhibitors can showcase and sell their products to customers who are passionate about food and drink. With over 100 exhibitors participating throughout the weekend, you can taste and purchase some of the finest food and drink available from all over the country. A highlight of the festival will be the high profile demonstrations by celebrity chefs Neven Maguire, Kevin Dundon, Catherine Fulvio, Gary O' Hanlon, Brian Mc Dermott, Joe Shannon and Donegal's own Anthony Armstrong and Martin Anderson.

Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival
25th-28th September

Galway City will come alive with seafood and oysters as it celebrates the Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival. It is Ireland's oldest food festival and the world's longest running oyster festival. You can indulge in some of the best oysters, while washing it down with some champagne or beer, whatever tickles your fancy.

Macroom Food Festival
26th-28th September

Macroom Food Festival is a week long festival of special local-focus menus, celebrating the very best of Cork's food heritage. There is plenty to do including demos and talks on all things foodie, gourmet food tastings and a taste trail through town. And that's not all with live music and busking and a monster outdoor artisan food market complete with delicious foods from the greater Munster area.

Kinsale Gourmet Festival
10th-12th October


Set in the gorgeous surroundings of Kinsale, this is the Kinsale Gourmet Festivals 38th year . This is where local restaurants come together to offer a diversity of cuisine and fine dining all in the spectacular setting of Kinsale
