Zebbie Awards
Thursday May 10th marks the fifth annual Zebbie Awards at the Sugar Club, Dublin presented by the IPSG and Script.ie. The awards, named in honour of O.Z. Whitehead, acknowledges the best in Irish scriptwriting, and with Senator David Norris as your host, it promises to be a hugely entertaining evening.
There are 6 categories that will be decided by the members of the Guild. Without further adieu, here are the nominees!
Best Writing for Theatre
Pat Kinevane – Silent
Mark O'Halloran – Trade
Nancy Harris – No Romance
Best Writing for Television
Stuart Carolan – Love / Hate (Episode 6)
Ronan Bennett – Hidden (Episode 1)
Damian Owens – Trivia (Episode 1)
Best Writing for Film (Feature)
Ciaran Creagh – Parked
Terry McMahon – Charlie Casanova
As If I Am Not There – Juanita Wilson
Best Writing for Film (Short)
Phil Harrison – Even Gods
Colin Thornton – Two Hearts
Claire Dix – Downpour
Best Writing for Radio
Karl O'Neill - Think Well, O Singer
Carlo Gebler - Charles and Mary
Joe O'Byrne - The Blue Hyacinth
And what's more, they also have their Special Services To Writers Award.
Doors open at 7:30pm, tickets are 15 euro if bought on their website - www.script.ie - or 25 euro on the night. Nibbles and entertainment also feature.
The Irish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild hopes you can all come down to help them celebrate some of finest writers this country has to offer.
