Wicked the Musical tickets on sale this Friday

It's finally happened. The news musical theatre fans all over the country have been waiting for, the answer to the most asked question of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, née the Grand Canal Theatre, since it opened in 2010. When is the musical sensation that is Wicked coming to out shores? November 2013. Yes, this year. Musical fans, commence freaking out.

Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, tells the story that we all know but from the other side of the Wizard's curtain, that of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch and how they came to be who they appeared to be. The Wizard of Oz this isn't. It's far superior, which may explain how it has come to be the musical sensation of the 21st century. Having been lucky enough to have seen Wicked firsthand in the glorious surrounds of the West End, and having a strict promise from Executive Producer Michael McCabe that this show will not sacrifice any of it's spectacle and splendour while on the road, this is one hot ticket that you do not want to miss. Tickets for Wicked's 8 week run in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre go on sale this Friday at 10am, priced from €25. For more info see www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie, but all you really need to know is that if you see one show this year, you should make it Wicked. Set those alarms.
