Top Ten Theatre Productions of 2012: #4 and #3

#4: Legally Blonde: The Musical

Taking the Bord Gais Energy Theatre by storm back in April, Legally Blonde: The Musical was a burst of light-heartened Broadway energy smack bang on the Dublin stage. Relentless in its charge, you couldn't help but get whipped up in the frenzy of it all. From on stage costume changes, massive dance numbers, a Riverdance tribute and performing dogs, Legally Blonde had everything you could want from a musical and more, and put a smile on every audience members face.

#3 Death of the Tradesmen

Shaun Dunne and Talking Shop Ensemble's most recent effort took a more unheard and unspoken of tact in their Irish recessionist take on Death of a Salesman. Tackling the state of the nation in recent years is a song that has well and truly been sung in theatre at this stage, but Death of the Tradesmen brought that conversation into a true to life marriage situation, with such heart, depth and sincerity that you couldn't help be moved by the young theatre makers. Ones definitely to watch out for.
