Dun Laoghaire Musical and Dramatic Society | The Drowsy Chaperone

Dun Laoghaire Musical and Dramatic Society

Promising an exciting blend of theatre, comedy and jazz music, this is a definite one to watch if you find yourself in the Dun Laoghaire area:

Dun Laoghaire Musical & Dramatic Society are delighted to present the Dublin premiere of a hilarious, heart-warming love-story "The Drowsy Chaperone". The show is described as a 'musical within a comedy' and it was an instant sensation on its debut on Broadway in 2006, winning five Tony Awards. It is based around musical theatre in the Jazz age, and the fans who love it. This production lies in the capable hands of Pat McElwain, musical direction by Dermot O'Callaghan and choreography by Deirdre Nolan.

The show will run in the Pavilion Theatre from Tuesday 17th April to Saturday, 21st April at 8pm nightly. You can also look forward to a matinée show on the Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm.

And if their success from previous years is anything to go by you'll want to act fast on tickets 'cause it may well be a sell-out run.

DMDS is a 70-strong musical society with a proud tradition of performance of musical theatre and concerts since 1959. They produce a musical each year in the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire and also perform at a range of events either as a full choir or in smaller choral groups. In the 2010/2011 season they celebrated our 50th anniversary.
