Carmen comes to The Bord Gais | Featuring Celine Byrne

Irish Opera fans are in for a treat this March when Carmen comes to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Performed by the Moscow State Opera the production will feature Ireland's leading soprano Celine Byrne. Not only that but one of the show’s most charming scenes will also feature Bray’s very own Junior Musical Theatre School Choir.

Carmen is considered to be one of the most exciting stories in opera, but this production offers something, which audience have not have seen before. Although keeping the traditional costumes and orchestral arrangements that you would expect from this much-loved classic, this very special imagining of Carmen features set designs celebrating some of Picasso’s early paintings. Focusing on his works dedicated to Spain and the bullfight, this ingenius collaboration with The Picasso Foundation is set to add a whole new dimension to these operatic and artistic masterpieces.

Award winning artistic director George Isaakian brings Carmen to The Bord Gais along with a number of guest soloists making this one of the highlights of the year for both opera fans and newcomers to this great art-form.
Carmen runs in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from 13th - 17th March at 7.30pm nightly. Tickets: €35 - 120.
