You know how people judge you based on what kind of music you like?

Turns out it says a lot more about you than you may initially realise. A recent study by software engineer Virgil Griffith charted the SAT Scores - that's Leaving Cert points to us - and cross-referenced those figures against musical artists people liked on Facebook.

The results, seen below, show that Beyonce, Lil Wayne, TI and The Used are at the lower end of the scale. Meanwhile, at the opposite end, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead and Beethoven was preferred by the intelligentsia.

Unsurprisingly, Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Snow Patrol straddled the middle ground with average intelligence people preferring their bland form of "alternative" music.

Obviously, the fact that the data for this was pulled from Facebook and referenced against exam points isn't the most scientific, but it's an interesting point - does pop music make you stupid?

We're going to listen to Drunk In Love on repeat while we contemplate that question.
