A veritable cavelcade of acts have confirmed over the weekend that they'll be heading to our little island for some live dates in the next few months. Below are some of the best.
Tune-Yards // Vicar Street // March 3rd // €22
Our favourite band from last summer's Electric Picnic, Tune-Yards played an absolutely mind-bending set on the Body & Soul stage at midnight of Friday and no one - not Beck, not Outkast, not Chic - bested it all weekend (IMHO). The Canadian collective, led by the vocal prowess of Merrill Garbus, are among the most unique acts touring today so make sure you're in Vicar Street when Tune-Yards roll into town.
Daniel Lanois // Vicar Street // April 16th // €44.05
One of the most respected names in music nowadays, Daniel Lanois will also take to the stage at Vicar Street a few months into 2015. A protégé of Brian Eno, Lanois is famed for his outstanding production duties on albums ranging from Peter Gabriel to U2 to Bob Dylan to Neil Young but it's not just his collaborative work with others which made his name, his own music is also of the absolute highest quality.
Ben Howard // 3Arena // April 14th // €39.05 - 44.05
After being one of Longitude's featured attractions last summer in Marlay Park (and in advance of his two sold out shows coming up in the Olympia), Ben Howard has already confirmed his NEXT return to Ireland where he will play the 3Arena in the middle of April. Howard second album 'I Forgot Where We Were' is available right now, so grab yourself some earphones and give it a goo.
Tweedy // Vicar Street // January 28th // €40.55
Hailed as "one of the most daring songwriters of his generation", Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedty has confirmed a date in Dublin at the end of January. Tweedy's influence on American country music has rise in prominence in recent years, with even Bob Dylan singing his praises as being of one of the foremost practitioners of country music working today. This time around, Jeff will be in tandem with is 18-year-old son and drummer Spencer Tweedy in what promised to be a hell of a night.
