The keyboardist had been a member of Jack White's touring party when he died suddenly in Mexico earlier this week.
Ikey Owens' cause of death has been revealed as a heart attack. The Grammy award winning keys player had been on tour with Jack White when he passed away. Owens had played with White in the musician's Kilmainham concert in Dublin last summer (pictured above, second from right).
As quoted by NME, a statement released confirmed the cause of death.
"The coroner has determined that Ikey Owens died from a heart attack at approximately 4am", the statement read. "The only drugs found in his room were a small amount of marijuana."
White has cancelled the remainder of his Mexican tour following Owens' passing.
A note posted on Jack White's official website paid tribute to Ikey Owens, saying: "We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist."
