Just days removed from announcing his third album (and first in nearly 8 years), Damien Rice has just confirmed his first high profile Dublin concert in some time.

Rice did play a gig in Dublin pub Whelan's in recent months to celebrate the live music venue's 25th anniversary but the forthcoming Dublin show - in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on 3rd November - just days after the album's release.

A limited number of advance tickets will first be available to mailing list subscribers via www.damienrice.com. A 48-hour pre-sale window will begin on Wednesday, September 17 at 9 am and general on-sale will begin Friday, September 19 at 9 am.

Rice’s upcoming album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy, is his first collection of material in eight years and was produced by Rick Rubin and Rice. Damien recently teased the record with a video clip featuring an acoustic version of the intro to the album’s title track (watch here), which Stereogum praised as “the prettiest and most properly epic-sounding piece of music he’s ever released.” The full-track premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, who hailed that Damien would once again be an “instrumental influence on our new generation and generations to come…eight years just evaporates into nothing. Incredible!”
