In a short-and-sweet statement, Liam Gallagher tweeted that his band, Beady Eye, were no more.

The ex-Oasis frontman formed Beady Eye with ex-Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell, releasing two albums in 2011 and 2013.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are due to release a new album in March 2015, with the first single In The Heat Of The Moment due for release in November.

Noel recently joined Smiths' guitarist Johnny Marr on stage for a quick cover of How Soon Is Now. Noel also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with former roommate Kate Moss and fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Liam and Noel are said to be on good terms again, but how likely is a reunion of the two brothers?

We'd like to think it's possible. For one, we can't imagine Liam would take that long a break and go into hibernation.

We'd imagine time and age has mellowed the two brothers out and allowed them to have a more placid relationship. Certainly Noel seems a lot more content and happy in the intervening years since Oasis split.

Time will ultimately tell, of course, but it could be sooner than we think.
