Nearly thirty years after they split George Michael has revealed that he has been in communication with former Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley about a possible reunion.
In a series of interviews to promote the forthcoming release of his new single 'Feeling Good', a cover of the Nina Simone classic, Michael let slip that he had dinner with Ridgeley and that a Wham! reunion was the principal topic of conversation.
Speaking to Mojo Magazine, Michael said: "He came round and cooked. We were talking about a Wham! reunion at Glastonbury in the fallow year."
Of course, the 'fallow year' that he refers to above is the spell every few years where Glasto organiser Michael Eavis elects to not hold a festival to allow the earth and soil to recover from previous festivals. So, truth be told, we're not quite sure yet whether you should take George's comments in tandem with a very large pinch of salt.
Wham! split in 1986 after selling more than 25 million records, with George keen to embark on a solo career - effectively ending Ridgeley's recording career. In a recent interview with Q Magazine, Michael also revealed that splitting Wham! was the biggest regret of his career.
Wham! were only together for little over five years and recorded three albums during that time. The duo were set to appear together at 'Live 8' in 2005 but Ridgeley pulled out at the last minute.
It is expected that an Wham! reunion would generate huge revenue for both Michael and Ridgeley.
