The fifth and final of the Marlay Park gig series will take place this weekend when the Arctic Monkeys follow in the footsteps of Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Kanye West and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, closing off a run which has seen more than 100,000 music fans descend upon Marlay Park over the last couple of weeks.

Who's playing on Saturday exactly?

The Arctic Monkeys will be headlining but you'll also have the chance to see performances from Jake Bugg, Miles Kane and Royal Blood.

What time does it all kick off?

The doors will open at 3pm.

Arctic Monkeys – 20:45hrs
Jake Bugg – 19:00hrs
Miles Kane – 17:30hrs
Royal Blood – 16.20hrs

But please, bear in mind that these times are subject to change by the promoters.

How do we get there?

You could get a Dublin Bus to right outside the door, or a Luas to Ballaly or Dundrum and it'll be around a 30 minute walk, so wear comfortable shoes. Traffic and parking delays are inevitable you are strongly advised to use public transport or carpool. Scroll down for additional travel information.

I have to collect tickets there, where do I go?

Credit Card collections will be located at the entrance off the Grange Road opposite Centre and Lidl.

What's the weather looking like?

Changeable, to use that most uninformative of words. The folk over at www.met.ie insist that there will be both rain AND shine tomorrow, so make sure to dress appropriately. There was around 37,000 pairs of feet stomping around the recent Macklemore gig in the torrential rain so that could mean the ground will be soft underfoot. Hiking boots will come in handy.

Can we bring booze in to the gig?

No, you can't. Ever. Nor can you bring food or umbrellas.

How do we get home?

Several punters had serious trouble returning home after the recent Arcade Fire show so, with that in mind, the promoters have released the following information:

The Promoter is not licensed to, nor do they operate any transport to and from the Marlay Park Dublin concerts. Transport to and from the venue is a matter for individual ticket-holders themselves, whether by means of car-pooling, cycling, walking, or by availing of the LUAS, Dublin Bus service (which is providing an enhanced bus schedule along with additional buses to take concert-goers directly into the City after the concert), or by making an advance return booking on the 'Marathon coaches' special shuttle bus service operating directly between the City Centre and the concert venue, or finally, by hiring a taxi.

The shuttle bus is the most direct form of transport to the concert - as the drop off point is directly outside the venue. The shuttle bus service will operate for all concerts from custom house quay in the city centre direct to Marlay Park. www.marathonsportsbooking.ie

Fare: €10 return. €9 when booked online in advance. Operating times are as below:

Note this is a return service only. We advise you to pre-book in advance.

Having said that, your writer cycled to some of these shows and had no trouble whatsoever.
