Super Furries Write Song For Kids Show Posted by EI Team on 28 July 2009. Mood:

Indie-Pendence headliners Super Furry Animals will be the next popular group to pen a song for American children's TV show 'Yo Gabba Gabba!'.

Frontman Gruff Rhys described the show as 'crazy' to BBC News, before describing his inspiration for the song. "You drink lots of additives. You go to the shop and buy everything that's coloured orange or red and because you're grown up, you have to drink 50 times the amount a kid would need to go mental... Then you just play at hyper-speed and jump around and stuff."

The Welsh rockers didn't say whether they would appear in person to play the song on the show.

Indie-Pendence Line Up Details Announced Posted by Jenny on 15 May 2009. Mood:

The line up for independent music festival Indie-Pendence was announced this week.

British acts Super Furry Animals and Ocean Colour Scene will headline proceedings with some great Irish bands filling out the bill. Among them are super fun guitar popsters Fred, innovative electro pop act Dark Room Notes, two time Choice Prize nominated hip hopsters Messiah J & The Expert, one man band and prodigy drummer R.S.A.G., veteran pop rockers The Frank & Walters, Meteor Hope of 2009 Wallis Bird, Offaly man Mundy and loads more.

Taking place in Michelstown, Cork, on August 1st and 2nd over three stages. it clashes with Tullamore's Castle Palooza festival, but several of the acts will play both festivals, and if we're totally honest about it, this line up is just better. See for yourself below:
