While not quite on the Garth Brooks in Croke Park level of demand, Kate Bush has sold all 80,000 tickets to her 22-date series of concerts at the Eventim Apollo in London in just 15 minutes.

Bush caused something of a ruckus online earlier this week by announcing the series of shows, the first live appearances in 35 years from the famously reclusive singer.

The tickets went on sale this morning at 9.30am and, after barely a quarter of an hour, the tickets (priced between €59 and €163) had all been snapped up.

A statement released a short time ago from Bush said: "I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to the shows. Thank you so much to everyone. Looking forward to seeing you all later this year."

The shows will take place between August 26th and October 1st.
