With the first big Dublin festival of the season just days away, we thought it fitting to run through a few of the tunes we're most looking forward to hearing this weekend in Kilmainham.

Chic - 'Le Freak'

A UK newspaper recently calculated exactly how much money, in terms of record sales, has been produced by Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers' guitar over the course of this 30+ year career thus far, coming up with a grand total of an astonishing $1.2billion. From working with the likes of Sister Sledge, Madonna and David Bowie in years gone by, Rodgers' has demonstrated that he's still got it by writing the guitar line for the arguably the best song of 2013 thus far, Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'. Here's another of his classics.

Le Galaxie feat. Elaine Mai - 'Love System'

One of the absolute best Irish anthems of 2012, Le Galaxie's 'Love System', we predict, will be one of the highlights of the weekend at Forbidden Fruit. This song is a fully-fledged festival anthem.

James Blake - 'The Wilhelm Scream'

A pulsed ballad, 'The Wilhelm Scream' is a tour-de-force of understatement from the British indie electronic producer James Blake. This song introduced Blake to an audience outside of the London venues where he cut his teeth. Now that he's an international name of repute, it'll be interesting to witness the song that started it all off for him.

Kasabian - Let's Roll Just Like We Used To

For a time they were painted as Gallagher brothers clones but, once those shackles were cast away, people began to take notice of Kasabian as they walked outside the shadows of others. 'Let's Roll Just Like We Used To' is one of the most interesting songs from their last album 'Velociraptor!', check it below.

Primal Scream - 'Movin' On Up'

As is sometimes the case with bands who enjoy massive success with an album, Primal Scream grew sick of their biggest hits. They went years without playing tracks from Screamadelica, but once that creative purge expired they grew to remember what they liked about those songs in the first place and now they're back in the Primal Scream setlist with renewed verve and vigour.
