The musical element of this year's Indiependence festival has been announced, with the likes of Jake Bugg, Primal Scream and Walking on Cars heading to Co. Cork this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Now, organisers have revealed the comedy and spoken word acts that will be joining them at Deer Farm in Mitchelstown from August 3rd - 5th.

Dundalk punk poet Jinx Lennon, Dublin poet and author Karl Parkinson, Mike Cullen Aherne from Mitchelstown and West Cork poetry collective, Scene Of The Rhyme, featuring David Mallaghan, Richard Brennan and David Haynes will all play the spoken word stage.

Musical poetry collaboration Shalalak featuring John Cummins will also feature, while Culture Vultures, curated and hosted by Irish Times journalist Tony Clayton-Lea, will return.

On the comedy front, you can expect the likes of 'Hardy Bucks' man Owen Colgan, Giz a Laugh's Enya Martin, as well as stand-up comedians Gearoid Farrelly and Emmanuel Idama. Bingo Loco, Sean Hegarty, John Colleary, Kevin Gildea, Totally Wired and Andrew Stanley will also feature.
