40 Lower Ormonde Quay, Dublin 1
The Winding Stair is situated on the site of the legendary Winding Stair café and bookshop. Overlooking the iconic Ha’penny Bridge on Dublin’s river Liffey, we serve rustic Irish food, sourced from local artisan producers and have an extensive micro brewery beer list and a wine selection focusing on independent, stellar winemakers from all over the world. We even have an Irish winemaker represented so you can have an entire food and wine experience, all from within the island! The space is simple, with Bentwood chairs, simple wooden tables, stripped wooden floors and scholarly blackboards announcing the day’s specials. The room is bright and dominated by the large windows onto the river and service is warm and efficient. We are hugely passionate about food, wine, beer and books and have maintained the famous bookshop on the ground floor. For simple, unadorned but delicious food, quirky books and fantastic wine, beer or cider, come to The Winding Stair!

This Restaurant is located in a bookstore above a winding stair- hence the name. The place has a great buzzing atmosphere and serves traditional Irish food. The staff are very nice and approachable.Prices aren't too bad either.

I have gone to this restaurant a few times, and the food is beautiful, Irish food with a twist. Really good selection of wine by the glass too. The sticky toffee pudding is amazing!

Went here with my boyfriend for our 4th anniversary in Feb 2010. Amazing food, gorgeous wine and real friendly staff. Love where the restaurant is located, as we could look out over the liffey. The old autentic building really worked well with the fine traditional meal. The black and white pudding starter is to recommend!
